The 2024 Daimiel Fairs and Festivities were sponsored by Madrija. Several days of joy, tradition, and fun continued with the Vermouth Dance in Plaza de España. To help beat the heat, Madrija handed out fans to all attendees.
The day was livened up by music from David Muñoz DJ and brought together more than five hundred people in the marquee set up next to the Town Hall, in Plaza de España, who had the chance to sing, dance, and cool off to current hits by artists like Estopa, Melendi, and Isabel Aaiún. For Daimiel’s Councillor for Festivities, Alicia Loro, this dance is “the perfect opportunity for locals and visitors of all ages to enjoy the best music together in a great festive atmosphere in the town center. We want to boost the daytime Fair, of course, and this dance shows exactly that.”
The Banderita Festival was also held at various spots around town, including Plaza de España, Plaza de San Pedro, and the Santa María area, thanks to the work of several local Red Cross volunteers.
The horse ribbon competition also took place. More than 300 people enjoyed the tournament, in which 18 riders competed for the prizes on offer. The winner was Santiago Torres riding his horse Duque, who credited “going for the ribbons with full determination” as the key to his victory.
